In an effort to raise awareness about the significance of Ghaf trees and their role in improving air quality, the municipality completed planting them in the outdoor area of Khorfakkan Kindergarten with the help of fifty pupils from the kindergarten. The partnership with Khalil bin Ahmed Secondary School for Boys also resulted in the planting of fifty seedlings for agricultural purposes.
Khorfakkan Kindergarten's "Our Beautiful Kindergarten" campaign, which included pupils as well as teachers, was a joint effort between the town and the kindergarten in honour of National Environment Day. A variety of seasonal flowers were planted in the kindergarten's outdoor area.
In addition, agricultural engineers from the municipality held a workshop where students from Abdullah bin Al-Zubair School learned how to plan and establish circular gardens.
As part of their cultural partnership, student groups were welcomed by the municipality nursery. At the same time as Gulf Children's Day, which is observed by the nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council on January 15th every year, the Khorfakkan Municipality hosted Alfa Nursery in Al Zubara Park for a children's event.
The "Plant and Harvest" event was jointly organised by the municipality and Al-Qimma Private School in Ayesha Dawood Park. Fifty-six pupils as well as teachers from the school took part.
The city also hosted a unique event called "Made by Hand" at Shees Public Park, where participants could participate in workshops and make unique crafts.
As part of Innovation Week, the city planned the "Think and Innovate" event at Shuhuh Park to encourage people to think beyond the box and foster their creative thinking abilities.
Participating in agricultural and educational activities were 105 students from various schools and kindergartens, as organised by the Khor Fakkan Public Library.
Expo Sharjah Centre hosted the Al Dhaid Agricultural Exhibition, where the municipality showcased cutting-edge machinery, tools, and techniques as well as creative approaches to old problems.
As part of the show, the local government hosted a workshop for children called "Make Shampoo from Natural Elements," with the goal of instructing them in the art of making shampoo using sidr trees.
Saif Ibrahim Al-Mansouri, the agricultural inspector in Khorfakkan Municipality, stressed during an appearance on the "Evening Talk" programme airing on Kalba's Al Sharqiya Channel that the municipality's numerous events and activities are designed to activate community relationships. He assured that the city's annual agenda features a wide range of workshops and useful events.
