Al Khalidiya Council wins SAVW Award for the second time

Sharjah 24: Al Khalidiya Suburb Council of Sharjah Department of Suburbs Affairs (SDSA) won third place in Sharjah Award for Volunteer Work (SAVW) Award for the best specialised initiative that serves the community, in the category of government institutions.
It is noteworthy that the Council won this award for the second time since its founding, as it received the award in 2018 as the best civil society organisation that initiates volunteer work.

This came during the ceremony that SAVW organised for the winners of its 21st edition, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in the Emirate of Sharjah.

His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Khalidiya Suburb Council, received the shield from His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, in the presence of Her Excellency Afaf Ibrahim Al Marri, Head of SSSD and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Award.

On the occasion of the honour, His Excellency Khalfan Al Marri expressed his happiness at the Council receiving this award and honour, and explained that this achievement represents an additional incentive to continue efforts and provide more volunteer initiatives that aim to serve the community in general and the people of the suburb in particular, and SAVW, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, it embodies the highest values of humanity and giving and celebrates the spirit of solidarity and interdependence that contributes to building interconnected societies and promotes volunteer work that serves society.

His Excellency Khalfan Al Marri stressed his keenness to participate annually in the award in line with the Council’s permanent, non-stop initiatives and to carry out volunteer work.

 Al Marri extended all thanks and appreciation to the Vice President, members, employees and volunteer committees who work in the Council as one team in all its community and humanitarian initiatives within its specialties, and dedicated this victory to the honourable people of the Khalidiya suburb.

In conclusion, His Excellency Khalfan Al Marri also thanked the employees for the award, wishing them further progress and prosperity under the wise leadership
