Sharjah 24: Aref Al Shehhi, a preacher at the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, announced that the department has launched the second edition of the "Hearts Hanging on Mosques" initiative as part of its summer programmes to instill values and promote religious morals.

Evening courses across 45+ mosques

Al Shehhi added in statements to "Sharjah 24" that the course targets children and young people during the evening hours in more than 45 mosques distributed across the emirate's cities and suburbs. This course aims to strengthen young people's connection to mosques, contribute to instilling Islamic values in their souls, fill their free time, educate them about religion, and teach them what will benefit them in this world.

Educational content and participation

He pointed out that the "Hearts Hanging on Mosques" initiative, which is being attended by more than 1,000 young people, includes a range of lessons, including memorising and interpreting some chapters of the Holy Quran, explaining hadiths from the Prophet's Sunnah, and covering topics of jurisprudence and behavior that interest young people, honing their religious knowledge and strengthening their sense of national belonging. It also includes educational and interactive activities, implemented within a safe environment and under the supervision of a select group of specialised imams and teachers.
