The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Archives, and attended by Salah Salem Al Mahmoud, Director General of Sharjah Archives, Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defense, and Brigadier General Saeed Obaid Rashid Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of Sharjah Civil Defense.
The visit reflects the archives' strategy to support government agencies in building an integrated system that ensures the management of government and historical documents, preserves institutional memory, and enhances the efficiency of government work. It also contributes to enabling agencies to manage their documents effectively and ensure their availability in line with the Sharjah government's directives.
At the start of the meeting, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and expressed his appreciation for their commitment to improving how documents are managed. He highlighted that this visit symbolizes effective teamwork among government bodies and stressed the importance of coming together to enhance how documents are handled in the emirate. Sheikh Khalid explained that the goal is to adopt modern systems that support digital progress and uphold good governance practices.
Brigadier General Yousef Al Shamsi also expressed gratitude for the reception and shared the valuable insights and experiences gained during the visit. He mentioned that reviewing the archives’ system is a significant step forward in organizing documents more efficiently. Brigadier General Al Shamsi highlighted their ambition to implement this document management system, which will boost overall performance and help better preserve important government documents.
