The SIB organizes this community initiative in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International, benefiting thousands of needy families in the United Arab Emirates through the distribution of food baskets.
Making a Positive Impact in Society
In this regard, Hassan Al Balghouni, Head of Corporate Communication at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: "This year's initiative aims to distribute more than 4000 baskets through special boxes containing all the basic and consumer food needs these families require."
He confirmed that the initiative is part of Sharjah Islamic Bank's commitment to reflecting its corporate values by making a positive and beneficial impact on the local community and supporting humanitarian issues and giving initiatives that contribute to providing a dignified life for needy families. This is achieved through a precise plan to identify the needy groups and choose the best way to support them and provide their requirements. This aligns with the directions of the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Sharjah Government in converging efforts and solidarity among entities active in charitable work and involving institutions in various initiatives and projects in this field, thus enhancing socially, economically, and humanitarianly responsible practices of these institutions.
Hassan Al Balghouni, explained that Ramadan represents an exceptional season in the SIB's agenda since its establishment, where resources, efforts, and capabilities are intensified to launch distinguished programs and initiatives that target the largest possible segment of beneficiaries, including families, individuals, fasters, and others. Among these is the "Mirak at your doorstep" initiative, whose charitable baskets reach many homes, in addition to the iftar meals distributed throughout the days of the blessed month in Ramadan tents near major mosques in various areas of the Emirate of Sharjah as well as other cities across the UAE, in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International.
He concluded that all the work teams assigned have completed their preparations and commenced executing the initiative optimally, according to the targeted areas and families, reflecting the civilized and humane image that characterizes the community initiatives adopted by the SIB throughout the year.
