Sharjah Lights Festival sparks Al Hamriyah’s sky

Sharjajh24 : On Thursday night, Al Hamriyah sky shined with the launch of the Sharjah Lights Festival which was attended by remarkable attendance from dignitaries, officials, residents, and inhabitants of Al Hamriyah city.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, in the presence of His Excellency Saeed Obaid Al Shamsi, Director of the Amiri Diwan in Al Hamriyah, members of the Al Hamriyah Region Council, Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, representatives of the Municipal Council, and employees from various departments and divisions of the municipality. They gathered to witness the 13th edition of the Sharjah Lights Festival, which presented light shows inspired by the culture, history, and nature of Sharjah and the UAE, utilizing the latest advanced lighting techniques and innovative artistic devices.

Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, clarified that the light shows displayed on the Al Hamriyah General Market building shed light on historical landmarks that tell stories of the rich heritage and glorious past of Sharjah, affirming that they also reflect the natural components and environmental diversity of Sharjah, as well as the iconic and magnificent Islamic structures through their designs, emphasising that they express Sharjah's vision for development and innovation in accordance with its identity, providing a comprehensive image of Sharjah as a distinguished tourist, cultural, and artistic destination.

Al Shamsi added that the opening shows were witnessed by a large gathering of Al Hamriyah residents, accompanied by their families and children, who appreciated the significance of nurturing the essence of the family and enhancing the cultural values of the emirate. The festival aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi,  Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the directives of  Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the Executive Council, to empower families, foster closeness, love, and affection, and strengthen the core of the family in building an interconnected community.

Al Shamsi revealed that the ongoing edition of the Lights Festival in Al Hamriyah witnesses a remarkable turnout at the various corners dedicated by the municipality for educational, artistic, and entertainment workshops. These workshops are conducted by national cadres from Al Hamriyah Municipality's various departments and divisions. The festival's activities varied between recreational programs and educational workshops, with dedicated sections to welcome families and children, as well as areas for games and competitions, and a section for food and cuisine, ensuring the happiness and joy of residents, visitors, and tourists frequenting the Lights venue.

Al Shamsi extended his sincere gratitude to the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, represented by its Chairman His Excellency Khaled Jasim Al Midfa, for their continuous cooperation in achieving the municipality's objectives and providing the opportunity to host the ongoing edition of the Sharjah Lights Festival in Al Hamriyah.
