Sharjah 24: His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, announced the launch of the activities of the 13th edition of the Sharjah Light Festival 2024.
He confirmed that under the generous patronage of His Highness Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 13th edition of the Sharjah Light Festival 2024 was launched, on Tuesday.
He added to “Sharjah 24” that the festival presents modern technologies and new light shows every year, with the participation of international artists and new sites where the shows are held. The activities of the festival were launched, on Tuesday, from the Sharjah Police’s headquarters building, and the new sites are Al Hamriyah General Souq and the Kalba Waterfront.
He pointed out that the sites of the Sharjah Light Festival activities include various architectural monuments. Performances are held in 12 locations with the participation of 15 international artists, and many facilities and services have been developed.
He stated that the Light Village, which was launched on the first of February as part of the festival's activities, witnessed a large turnout this year, and he thanked the supporting bodies, media professionals and various work teams, and invited the public to visit the various festival sites.
Among the most prominent cultural and natural landmarks in the Emirate, including three new sites for this year, which are the Sharjah Police’s headquarters, Al Hamriyah General Souq, the Kalba Waterfront. In addition to other sites that include: Khalid Lagoon, Al Majaz Waterfront, BEEAH’s headquarters, Al Dhaid Fort, Sharjah Mosque, Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi Mosque, Al Noor Mosque, Al Rafisah Dam, as well as the Light Village.
