Sharjah 24: In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sharjah Charity International (SCI) launched its seasonal campaign "Warm Winter" in seven countries through the diplomatic missions in the beneficiary countries and the association's regional offices in Asia and Africa.
The programme helped 1610 distant Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Albania, and Egypt families.
The association intensifies its seasonal aid efforts to support benefactors in providing heating resources for the poor and needy worldwide through the Warm Winter campaign, according to Mohammed bin Nassar, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing. Based on surveys conducted by the association's offices, delegates provide tools and resources to help recipients stay warm. To help recipients, various materials were supplied according to each country's standards.
Bin Nassar said the programme distributed warmth tools such as winter apparel, thick blankets, charcoal, and fuel based on each region's requirements and resources.
He said that the campaign promotes sympathy, solidarity, and help for others by empathising with their suffering and pains, which is one of the association's main purposes for foreign aid.
He said efforts are being made to empower the underprivileged and meet their basic necessities for a stable life. The needy deserve these resources to stay warm and live safely and decently, especially in the winter.
He thanked generous supporters for their support of this campaign and all the association's campaigns and projects domestically and internationally, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country's embassies in the countries covered by the aid for their assistance in reaching deserving categories and remote areas.
