The initiative is part of the UAE’s broader humanitarian drive, in collaboration with the "Chivalrous Knight 3" operation led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to ease the severe living conditions of Gaza’s population. The monthly operational cost of the project stands at AED 750,000.
Executive Director Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem affirmed that the project reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to immediate and effective humanitarian support for distressed populations. The operation of local bakeries ensures the delivery of bread — a dietary essential — to the most vulnerable groups in Gaza, and complements earlier efforts by the charity, such as drilling 12 wells and running field kitchens to supply hot meals. As one of the largest food initiatives in the region, the bakery project is vital amid dwindling food supplies and the limited capacity of operational bakeries.
Bin Khadem highlighted that this effort represents a cornerstone of Sharjah Charity’s broader relief campaign in Gaza. Implemented with the cooperation of partners on the ground, the project ensures that aid reaches those most in need according to precise criteria that safeguard their dignity while fulfilling their basic needs.
He urged the people of the UAE to support this urgent humanitarian mission, either through full or partial donations. The charity provides a variety of safe and simple donation methods, including Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, SMS, and its official website.
Bin Khadem emphasised that every contribution, regardless of size, has a meaningful impact on the lives of families who have lost access to the most basic necessities. He stressed that a rapid response from donors will expand the project’s reach and help more people in the coming days. The charity remains committed to its humanitarian mission in Gaza and reaffirmed its dedication to sustainable aid efforts that uphold human dignity and resilience in the face of adversity.
