Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) reported that its 12th medical camp for free initial examination, launched in Khorfakkan on Saturday and Sunday, showed that nearly 44 cases were suffering chronic diseases they were not aware of.
Nasser Masoud Bilal, director of SCI in Khorfakkan, said that during the two days, the SCI's medical camp in Khorfakkan received more than 1100 families from the eastern region, to benefit from the medical examinations that were conducted free of charge by the cooperating medical teams, indicating that the camp is an opportunity for community members to reassure themselves on their health condition, and following the medical instructions provided by the medical teams in the camp.

Nasser Masoud Bilal confirmed that the tests revealed that some cases suffered weak bone density, high blood pressure in the eyes, myopia, and cataracts, in addition other cases require undergoing tooth extractions and root canal treatment.

The director of SCI in Khorfakkan explained that cases were referred to SCI Medical Centre, opened in cooperation with Burjeel Hospital, to receive the required treatment under the supervision of the centre’s doctors, which includes a dental department, a general medicine department, a medical analysis and radiology department, and a pharmacy to dispense the necessary medications.

Masoud Bilal pointed out the importance of the camp in providing examination and following up on cases, praising the support of partner institutions in the success of this camp, which provided examination, including internal medicine, blood pressure, diabetes, eyes, gynecology, geriatrics, and dentistry.
