SCI launches “Ghayth 4” for clothing and household supplies

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), in collaboration with Egypt's Misr El Kheir Foundation, launched a humanitarian initiative during the Zayed Charity Marathon in Egypt, distributing food parcels to 15,000 beneficiaries in Giza and Fayoum Governorates and Helwan in the Southern Area of Cairo.

Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi, Advisor at the Court of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of the SCI; Dr. Mohammed bin Howiden Al Ketbi, Director of the SCI’s Administration in Al Dhaid; a number of SCI’s heads of sectors and directors of departments; notables and people of the Central Region, attended the launch of the exhibition in which several agencies, departments and institutions were also present.

Cutting the ribbon of the official opening of the exhibition, Dr. Mohammed bin Howiden Al Ketbi delivered a speech in which he praised the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the progressing path of charitable work in the Emirate of Sharjah.

He stressed that the three- day “Ghayth 4” exhibition targets needy families and people with limited income, who wish to buy what they need of ready-made clothes, household utensils and handicrafts at nominal prices. He added that the SCI generates income to finance and support its implemented projects, which benefit approximately 6,000 families.

Al Ketbi thanked the benefactors, philanthropists, and participating parties for the support they provided to the Charity and the exhibition.
