Sharjah24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) revealed that it received 5,753 requests for help over the past nine months of 2023, with an average of 100 requests per day, through the website, and some cases referred by service agencies within the framework of community participation and cooperation programmes to support people in need.
According to Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director, the association has made great strides in organizing aid, and submitting applications are now subject to precise mechanisms, through electronic submission and follow-up through the call center.
He added that the new strategy has become more flexible in receiving a large number of applications and completing them quickly while ensuring complete privacy for those eligible.
He explained that 4,428 requests out of 5,753 requests were approved. In comparison, 1,325 requests were rejected, pointing out that the association allocated an independent committee in its own right to check the requests.
Ibn Khadim explained that the reasons behind the rejections are linked to the adequacy of the applicant’s income compared to monthly expenses, in addition to the lack of clarity of the financial situation due to lack of evidence, and the lack of requested required documents, pointing out that the request for assistance is subject to several stages that are completed electronically to ensure rapid response and achieve customer satisfaction.
