SP attends UoS Applied Research Interconference

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Police General Command (SP) attended the inaugural international conference for Applied Research in Humanities and Social Sciences with the topic "Multidisciplinary Global Practices" at the University of Sharjah's Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (UoS).
Prof. Dr Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah and Chairman of the Conference Committee; Dr Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies; and Dr Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy (SPA), as well as several senior officers from the General Command of Sharjah Police, launched the conference.

Sharjah Police took part in two sessions and two workshops. The first session was titled "The Applications of Sharjah Police in Crime Prevention" and featured presentations on "The Applications of the Operations Room in Crime Prevention," presented by Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director-General of Central Operations, and "The Role of Criminal Networks in Drug Promotion through Social Media," given by Lieutenant Colonel Majed Al Asam, Director of Sharjah Police's Drugs Enforcement Department.

The second session focused on "The Role of Sharjah Police Science Academy Programmes in Achieving Social Security" and included several research papers, including "The Role of the Academy in Enhancing Social Security Through Its Accredited Academic Programmes," presented by Dr Mohammed Al Othmani.

There was also a workshop titled "Applied Police Research and Its Role in Crime Reduction," presented by Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Mohammed Al Mulaih of the Sharjah Police Research Centre, and another titled "Drug Users in Our Home: How to Detect Drug Addicts?" presented by Lieutenant Colonel Abdulaziz and Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Rashid Alai.

SP's involvement also featured an exhibition of Sharjah Police's interactive platform "Be Aware," which was intended to raise security awareness and educate the community about the dangers of drug marketing via social media platforms."
