Sharjah 24: The committee tasked with crafting and executing cultural, communal, and sports initiatives within the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has greenlit its operational roadmap for the near future.
It has opted to conduct on-site visits to the Emirate's clubs based on an endorsed schedule. Further, the committee has established three task forces for implementation and initiated contact with the Sharjah Medical Zone to gather demographic-specific statistical data concerning chronic ailments in the community.
In recent times, the committee convened two sessions following its formation, helmed by Abdullah Mohammed Al Mulla, a board member.
During these gatherings, the committee delineated its duties and jurisdictions, deliberated on impediments obstructing the rollout of cultural and communal undertakings, discussed avenues for harmonisation with diverse governmental bodies and institutions in Sharjah, and communicated with the Department of Statistics and Community Development to procure requisite statistics.
The meetings underscored the significance of synergy among various clubs and institutions to boost cultural, communal, and sports engagement and to bolster support for societal matters. Additionally, they broached the creation of an operational handbook for initiatives and activities.
Abdullah Al Mulla emphasised that the committee's mission is to actualise its mandates, including the development and execution of cultural and communal sports programmes for all Emirate clubs, the formulation of policies promoting cultural, social, and sports benefits, empowering citizens to increase their involvement in sports activities within the Emirate, and strengthening of the role of sports clubs in addressing societal issues through coordination and collaboration with pertinent governmental bodies.
He noted that the forthcoming period will see comprehensive coordination across all fronts to deliver exceptional outcomes in alignment with the committee's overarching goals.
