Sharjah24: Eng. Mohammed Al Qasim, Director-General of Emirates Schools Establishment, and Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen mutual cooperation in events and activities that contribute to the enhancement of the skills and athletic talents of government school students.
The two parties will work together to organise tournaments, camps, and sports projects that will increase the quality of sports activities in government schools, develop students' skills and abilities, and build a culture of constructive competition among them, according to the agreement.
Eng. Mohammed Al Qasim emphasised the institution's commitment to strengthening mutual collaboration with a variety of strategic partners in order to meet the country's objectives and goals in the government education sector.
He noted that one component of this cooperation is the agreement of understanding with the Sharjah Sports Council, which supports the institution's efforts to develop sports activities in government schools.
He also emphasised the importance of sporting activities in government schools as an integral component of educational objectives aimed at academically and physically preparing pupils, as well as an investment in future generations.
According to Issa Hilal Al Hazami, the engagement with Emirates Schools Establishment is in line with the council's vision and ambitions, which aim to combine athletic and physical brilliance with scientific and cultural uniqueness. He stressed that the perfect athlete combines both elements.
School sports, according to Al Hazami, lay the groundwork for developing champions and building national teams to represent the country in international contests.
Through activities and events organised jointly by the two parties, the memorandum of understanding will allow the execution of executive programmes to attain this aim. Additionally,
The MoU will rely on both schools' personnel resources, infrastructure, and logistical skills to achieve this goal.
The collaborative plans and programmes will be centred on finding and developing outstanding kids through the emirate's sports clubs, which have great resources and facilities.
