Sharjah24: The Sharjah Police, represented by the Punitive and Correctional Institution, organised a health campaign at the institution's clinic under the title "A Sound Vision for a Healthy Life." The campaign aimed to enhance the quality of the inmates' health and social life by conducting eye examinations for its inmates.
Targeting older male and female detainees as well as those with vision impairments, the campaign is one of the institution's ongoing community and health activities. The campaign aims to provide them with medical glasses. 72 prisoners were among the campaign's recipients.
Colonel Mona Sorour Al Shuwaihi, Deputy Director of the Sharjah Punitive and Rehabilitation Establishment affirmed that the Sharjah Police General Command prioritizes the process of enhancing healthcare for its inmates. This is accomplished by planning numerous initiatives that encourage their physical and mental health and help them adopt healthy habits, assisting in their recovery and eventual reintegration into society.
