Sharjah 24: The Punitive and Correctional Institution (PCI), in partnership with the Sharjah Charity Association and the Dental Implant Research Centre in Dubai, continued its annual medical campaign for the project of specialised dental treatment and implantation for the institution's inmates within the "Dental Implant Initiative," since the Sharjah Police General Command believes it is crucial to provide adequate health care for inmates in the presence of top consultants, highly qualified doctors, and nurses, as well as Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Mihyan Al Ketbi, Head of the Inmate Affairs Department, and other non-commissioned officers and members of the institution.

A team of fifteen prominent international and local volunteer physicians assisted eight inmates. Out of the 33 inmates who will receive treatment this year, over 30 more will have implants in 2022.

Brigadier General Ahmed Abdul Aziz Shuhail, director of Sharjah's Punitive and Correctional Institution, noted that this initiative demonstrates the Sharjah Police General Command's commitment to ensuring that inmates receive adequate health care in the facility and that they are granted all human rights that are consistent with international laws, customs, and covenants.
