Sharjah24: In line with the country's directions to adopt the current year as the year of sustainability, the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) launched the Sports Sustainability Award, with the participation of all the emirate's sports clubs through 6 criteria, with the aim of raising the awareness of the importance of natural and financial resources and their optimal use.
This came during the press conference that was organised on Wednesday, at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, in the presence of His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mualla, Chairman of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club; in the presence of dignitaries, a number of members of the board of directors and representatives of entities and clubs, in addition to managers and employees of the council and the clubs, we well as media representatives. The Award is scheduled to start next April.
On this occasion, Hamad Ahmed Al Hosani, project executive in the Strategic Planning and Performance Department of the Council, Director of the Award, gave a detailed explanation at the press conference about the objectives of the award, which includes seven basic criteria.
Commenting on this, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami has highlighted the remarkable significant of the award, stressing on the Council’s keenness to enhance the role of sport in line with the directives of the country.
