Sharjah24: In preparations for the blessed month of Ramadan, Al Hamriyah Municipality launched inspection campaigns to ensure the safety of the food most traded during the holy month with the aim of ensuring preventive measures on sales outlets.
The campaign included all outlets selling food products, supermarkets, groceries, restaurants, popular kitchens, and cafeterias in Al Hamriyah area and the Sharjah Cooperative Society, in addition to markets selling meat, fish, and vegetable and fruit stores affiliated to Al Jubail Market in Al Hamriyah.
Building on that, His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, confirmed that the municipality, through its specialized departments, municipal inspection teams, and health and food control, seeks to ensure the readiness of food establishments to meet the requirements for preparing, transporting, selling and storing foodstuffs and products, in addition to ensuring food safety during the holy month to ensure health requirements that must be observed.
Al Shamsi added that the awareness campaign was followed by inspection visits, which resulted in issuing 2 health violations related to the preparation and processing of food and 8 warnings, adding that the municipality issued 12 health violations, and one facility was temporarily suspended during the first quarter of the year 2023, pointing out that the food control teams have begun implementing their proactive programs before the month of Ramadan, pointing out that they will include Ramadan tents and sites licensed to display food in front of shops.
