Sharjah 24: The Breastfeeding Friends, part of the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, marked World Prematurity Day on November 17 with the theme "Parents' embrace is the finest cure."
Eng. Khawla Al Noman, Head of the Breastfeeding Friends, noted that the organisation is commemorating World Prematurity Day this year in order to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding.
She further stated that the involvement in this event reflects the aspirations and instructions of the wife of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, emphasising the need to work on organising awareness-raising events and campaigns with the aim of improving the physical and psychological health of mothers and children.
