Sharjah24: The Breastfeeding Friends Association (BFA) of the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah concluded the awareness campaign from 1 – 7 August, in celebration of the World Breastfeeding Week 2022, which aims to enhance societal awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and its role in improving the physical and psychological health of children and mothers.
The campaign, which witnessed the participation of 2,000 people, included the organization of 4 virtual and 3 realistic workshops, on the benefits of breastfeeding for the health of mothers and children, presented by a group of health specialists and consultants, in addition to providing nutritional advice to breastfeeding and pregnant mothers.
Her Excellency Eng. Khawla Abdulaziz Al-Noman, President of the Friends of Breastfeeding Association, confirmed the association’s keenness to celebrate annually the World Breastfeeding Week with the World Alliance to promote Breastfeeding (WABA) by launching activities and quality programs with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and increasing breastfeeding rates.
