Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Sharjah Department Public Works (SDPW) handed over the fishermen's village project in Al Hamriyah to the Sharjah Fish Recourses Authority.
This came in the presence of His Excellency Matar bin Ahmed Al Khashri Al Naqbi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, Engineer Hadef Al Khader, Head of the Supervision Department at the SDPW, and a number of officials from both sides.

His Excellency Al Naqbi expressed the fishermen’s pride in establishing the village, expressing the highest thanks and praise to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for His Highness’s constant directives to serve the people and establish projects that serve them.

His Excellency noted that these new projects are part of the developments in the region, and support tourism and social growth plans, especially in light of the unique geographical location and the rare tourist components that it possesses, which put it on the map of the popular tourist areas in the country.

For his part, Al Khader stressed that this project falls within the development plan of the SDPW that meets the needs of the Al Hamriyah Municipal Council and aims to encourage fishermen to continue the fishing profession. In addition to preserving it for future generations and to integrate services through the fishermen’s village with the fishermen’s association building, as well as an ice factory and a petrol station for boats.
