Sharjah24: The Khorfakkan Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority -, organised “Peak Hour” forum in the Hayawa Suburb Council of Khorfakkan, as part of its efforts aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting a culture of conservation.
Eng. Ahmed Al Mulla, Director of Khorfakkan SEWA, Dr. Rashid Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council, Sultan Al Mansoori, Director of Khorfakkan's Rulers Court, Khaled Buhendi Al Mansoori, Chairman of Hayawa Suburb Council, and several managers and officials from various entities.
The "Peak Hour" initiative seeks to raise awareness of daily best practices. Along with promoting the concept of sustainable consumption and encouraging members of society to change their behaviour towards energy and water to preserve natural resources, and to ensure a better future for upcoming generation by protecting the environment, translating the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The initiative was launched on July 1, like every year, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
Eng. Al Mulla, explained that the SEWA's Conservation Department implemented a plan to attract the largest number of government agencies, companies, and individuals to participate in the initiative.
Khaled Buhendi stressed that the Hayawa Suburb Council works, in cooperation with government departments and private institutions, to meet the community's needs within its competence and powers, praising the support given by the SEWA to suburban councils in Sharjah.
