Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) has successfully completed the lighting project for the Khorfakkan Ring Road in Al Harai area. This project involved the installation of 285 streetlight poles along both sides of the road.
Engineer Saud Abdulaziz, the Director of the Khorfakkan Department, emphasised that this initiative was carried out following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The objective was to enhance services for all areas within the city of Sharjah.
He further explained that the design of the lighting network in any given area considers various factors, which vary depending on whether it's a secondary road, a main road, or a highway. These factors include the spacing between the poles, their height, the number of lamps on each pole, and the overall design. This meticulous planning also takes into account the road's length, width, the appropriate lighting levels, and lamp types and their capacities.
