Sharjah 24: At the headquarters of Al Qasimia University, a joint memorandum of understanding was signed between Al Qasimia University and the Sharjah Labour Standards Development Authority (SLSDA), to integrate roles and exchange experiences to build capacities of national professionals and offering courses and programmes in Sharjah.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Al Qasimia University by His Excellency Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, and from the Sharjah Labour Standards Development Authority, His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qasir, Chairman of SLSDA, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Awad Al Khalaf, Acting Director of the University, and members of the Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University.
The memorandum tackles the cooperation of Al Qasimia University and SLSDA to jointly provide support to training programmes and to coordinate the development and implementation of quality training programmes aimed at developing and maintaining national human and labor resources.
After the signing ceremony, His Excellency Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, stressed the importance of this MoU, which reflects the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the need for cooperation between institutions with common goals in various fields.
Prof. Dr. Awwad Al Khalaf, Acting Director of Al Qasimia University, stressed that SLSDA is one of the important departments in the Government of Sharjah, which plays an important roles in achieving stability in the work environment and training employees in line with Sharjah orientation towards sustainable development and strategic planning.
Prof. Dr. Awwad Al Khalaf added that the university plays a role in offering programmes and training courses based on the experiences of its professors in all fields, presenting the tolerant Islam as well as taking care of the Arabic language.
His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of SLSDA, pointed out the importance of the MoU with Al Qasimia University, known to be successful in spreading the foundations and teachings of tolerant Islam focusing on the Arabic language. His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qaseer pointed that the Authority seeks, in cooperation with the University, to design training programmes for Sharjah employees to develop their skills in all fields, whether teaching Arabic to non-native speakers to facilitate their integration into society, memorising the Noble Quran, and information technology.
Al Qaseer stressed that the MoU will pave the way for cooperation between SLSDA and Al Qasimia University in conducting research studies and analytical questionnaires for the labour market in Sharjah, holding seminars and workshops on the labour market, designing awareness programmes in several languages, and will also making room for the Centre for Continuing Education and Development at the university to offer specialised courses for SLSDA.
