FDA concludes 'Super Hero' awareness programme

Sharjah 24: The Friends for Diabetes Association (FDA), a health-promoting entity under the Health Promotion Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, has concluded, in a special celebration, its “Super Hero” awareness programme, in cooperation with the Emirates Schools Establishment, Sharjah Education Council (SEC), and Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA).
Khawla Al Haj, Head of the Friends for Diabetes Association, Aisha Al Seiri, Director of the Student Care and Protection Department at Emirates Schools Establishment, Shaima Al Hosani Head of the Nursing Department at Sharjah Education Council, members of the Associations staff and volunteers attended the closing ceremony.

All male and female students from various schools, as well as their parents, participated in the ceremony.

According to Khawla Al Haj, Head of the Friends for Diabetes Association, “Without the inspiring vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah's wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, this year's programme, which included 45 public and private schools from the Emirate of Sharjah and the Central Region, would not have been possible. Her Highness always supports, advocates for, and directs the Friends for Diabetes Association, giving it all the help and care it needs to fulfil its aims of increasing diabetes health awareness and creating a friendly atmosphere for community members to embrace healthy lifestyles.”

Al Haj continued, "The Friends for Diabetes Association delivered several awareness programmes, 53 lectures and workshops for students, parents, and the school community, thanks to the efforts of the work teams and the collaboration of the partners."
