'Friends for Diabetes' reviews plans for its projects, programmes

Sharjah 24: The Friends for Diabetes Association, one of the health-promoting organisations under the Health Promotion Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, reviewed, during its first general meeting, work plans for the most prominent health projects and programmes that it intends to organise during the coming period.
The meeting, held recently, through the visual communication technology, witnessed the chairing of Her Excellency Khawla Al Haj, Head of the Friends for Diabetes Association, and in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Community Development, and members of the association’s Board of Directors. 

The meeting discussed ways to develop the activities and awareness programmes carried out to enhance the awareness of community members about diabetes and ways to prevent it.

Her Excellency Khawla Al Haj expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, for the interest and keenness of Her Highness to provide full support and care to the Friends for Diabetes Association. 

His Excellency Khawla Al Haj indicated that the meeting formed a brainstorming session to exchange experiences, opinions and proposals and to develop an integrated work methodology that contributes to developing the performance of the association and enabling it to achieve its strategic goals. 

The association also held another meeting of its board of directors, during which members of the new board of directors were elected. His Excellency Khawla Al Haj was elected to the position of chairperson of the board, Dr. Elham Mohammed Al Amiri for the position of deputy chairperson of the board, Sheikha Mona bint Saqr Al Qasimi for the position of secretary treasurer, and Hessa Al Sharif for the position of treasurer.
