Sharjah 24: A number of Al Qasimia University students were introduced to the curlew as part of their visit to the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and enjoyed exhibition held on the sidelines of the event.
The visit is part of the cooperation between Al Qasimia University and the Institute to participate in the fourteenth edition of the “Bisharat Al Qaith” (a ceremony that marks the ancient Gulf tradition of ushering in the summer season with celebrations ). The event will be organised by the the Sharjah Institute for Heritage under the slogan “the curlew”.
The visit aims at developing culture and knowledge, and getting to know the authentic Emirati heritage and vocabulary within the Institute environment. The visit also realises the vision of Al Qasimia University aiming to integrate students of different nationalities with national activities and events in order to understand traditional customs prevailing in the Emirati society.
Al Qasimia students enjoyed a lecture on the Curlew, being a part of the culture of the UAE.
On the sidelines of the visit, the student delegation met with His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, who welcomed Al Qasimia students to the Institute annual event.
