Sharjah24: A delegation from Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, led by Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board, visited the home of former UAE football star and prominent sports figure Captain Ali Thani Juma. The delegation also included Captain Badr Al Zarouni, Supervisor of the Football Youth Teams, along with participants in the Sharjah Sports Summer Programme, A Holiday Reimagined 2026.

The visit reflected the values of appreciation and intergenerational connection by bringing young participants together with one of the UAE’s most distinguished sports figures.

Captain Ali Thani Juma welcomed the delegation and expressed his pleasure at the visit, describing it as a reflection of Mleiha Club’s commitment to strengthening ties between generations of athletes and passing on valuable experiences to young people, helping to reinforce sporting and national values.

He also praised the Sharjah Sports Council’s leading role in supporting sports and community initiatives. He said the Sharjah Sports Summer Programme, A Holiday Reimagined, is an outstanding example of making productive use of young people’s time through integrated activities that combine sport, culture and awareness, while helping to develop a generation that is both informed and committed to positive values.

Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi said the visit forms part of Mleiha Club’s efforts to introduce programme participants to the UAE’s sporting icons and enable them to benefit from their inspiring achievements. At the end of the visit, the delegation thanked Captain Ali Thani Juma for his warm welcome and generous hospitality. They also expressed their appreciation for the valuable advice and inspiring stories he shared, which left a lasting impression on the programme participants, and wished him continued good health and success.
