The goal of such initiatives is to help children become more creative by giving them experiences that combine tradition with technology. This would make them think critically and get involved with their local culture. The 3D Art Workshop was a big hit. There, the children learnt how to use 3D printing to make models of their artistic ideas. They also made and coloured creative maps of Sharjah's geographical characteristics and landmarks, which helped students learn about their surroundings in a new way.
The Mandala Art Workshop helped children improve their focus and creative accuracy by encouraging them to draw and colour circular patterns based on geometrical and symbolic concepts. On the other hand, in the Artist's Journey Workshop, children used colours and materials inspired by the UAE's history and monuments to learn about different ways to write. They then turned these letters into creative works of art that show off their imagination and cultural identity.
The Emirati House Project Workshop taught people how to design traditional Emirati homes by making wooden models from materials that have been passed down through the generations. The project helped children learn about their cultural roots and architectural heritage. It also showed them that art is a global way to express themselves and connect with others, based on their knowledge and appreciation of the country's rich traditions.
One of the activities was a pottery workshop, where children learnt the basics of shape and making things together. Another was a Digital Arts Workshop, where they learnt new ways to combine their imagination with digital creativity. The children thought about what they would do in Sharjah's future and how art could make people more aware of the environment and come up with ways to recycle.
The Arabic Calligraphy and Botanical Ornamentation Workshop taught children how to adorn calligraphy with gold leaf and flower designs. This helped them become more creative and pay more attention to detail. In the Stitch and Art Workshop, they learnt basic embroidery skills by combining hand stitching with visual arts. They made embroidered pieces that show community values and cultural pride.
The Children's Murals of Sharjah exhibition at the House of Wisdom featured 13 interactive murals on the theme of "The UAE and the World", which showed how the UAE connects different cultures. The children' art showed how much they loved the UAE and were proud of their background. It combined childhood creativity with contemporary artistic expression, celebrating the values of belonging and coexistence.
“Sharjah Children's" commitment to encouraging creativity and giving young people power was shown even more by other workshops like Innovative Arts, Motion Graphics, Al Makhawar Emirati Craft, Artistic Impressions, Sharjah Landmarks, Desert Jerboa, and Steps on the Sand. These projects show that the organisation is still committed to helping children develop their artistic skills and making their contributions to the local and global cultural scene even stronger.
