The initiative included a visit by a Council delegation to Muath Bin Jabal School, during which several agricultural saplings were distributed to the school administration, teaching staff, and students, with the aim of reinforcing the concept of community farming and encouraging younger generations to adopt positive environmental practices.
This initiative reflects the vision of the Wasit Council to support environmental efforts and community initiatives that enhance quality of life and align with the Emirate of Sharjah’s commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of a green environment.
The initiative also demonstrates the Council’s dedication to instilling values of belonging and environmental responsibility among students by engaging them in hands-on activities that highlight the importance of planting and afforestation as integral elements of environmental preservation.
The event saw the participation of the school principal, several teachers, and students in planting a symbolic tree named the Green Wasit Tree in the school courtyard. The tree stands as a symbol of generosity, growth, and cooperation between the Council and educational institutions.
