The Youth Theatre Day provided an open space for creativity and artistic expression, bringing together members from the eight Sharjah Youth Centres spread across the cities and regions of the Emirate. It gave them the chance to showcase their talents and the skills they mastered during their participation in the Imagination and Creativity Camp on stage.
The young participants presented professional theatrical performances reflecting the knowledge and experience they gained in the camp — from mastering stage presence, body and voice control, to writing scenes and developing characters — under the supervision of a group of leading Arab theatre experts.
The first performance, titled “Crossing”, portrayed a silent theatrical journey, its story woven with light, movement, and puppetry.
The second, “Youth Dreams”, delved into the depths of the human self, exploring inner struggles and aspirations. It highlighted the ability of young people to overcome challenges and achieve ambitions, blending dramatic sensitivity with realism to create an honest picture of determination and hope, turning the stage into a platform for the power of will.
The third play, “The Bag”, embodied a journey of rebellion and self-expression in a creative comedic style.
The fourth, “Our Heritage: Generosity and Authenticity”, showcased authentic Emirati customs and traditions through mime.
Youth Theatre Day helped strengthen the self-confidence of Sharjah Youth members and refine their communication and performance skills. It also reinforced values of cooperation and teamwork, in line with the vision of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, which aims to empower future generations to express their ideas and creativity with confidence and professionalism.
