Sharjah's Al Zahia Run features three Emirati champions

Sharjah 24: Hamid Al Mualla, Saif Al Alawi, and Hamid Al Hammadi were crowned winners in their respective categories in the fifth edition of the Al Zahia Run, organised by the Sharjah Sports Council on Sunday, 6 July, at City Centre Al Zahia. The event attracted 450 male and female participants and was closely followed by the mall’s visitors. The race featured three categories, covering distances of 800 meters, 8 kilometres, and 4 kilometres.

The event was attended by Saeed Al Ajil, Vice President of the UAE Sports for All Federation; Bakhit Saeed Al Qars, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department; Yousef Al Hosani, Head of Event Planning and Implementation Section at the Sharjah Sports Council; and Lina Hamed from the mall’s Marketing Department, who all presented the awards to the winners.

In the 8 km race for Emirati men, Hamid Al Mualla came in first place, followed by Obaid Al Nuaimi in second, and Ammar Ali in third. For Emirati women, Afra Al Abdullah secured first place, followed by Eman Al Shamsi in second. Yasser Bakhit won first place in the men's open category, followed by Peter Campbell in second and Alwaleed Bidi in third. In the women’s open category, Nancy Oyetty took first place, followed by Anita Nusura and Lara Barrow in second and third, respectively.

In the 4 km race for Emirati men, Saif Al Alawi won first place, followed by Obaid Al Hammoudi in second and Khalid Al Abdouli in third. For Emirati women, Reem Al Eidrous came in first, Amal Al Kaabi second, and Al Ghalla Al Shehhi third. In the open men’s category, Geoffrey Kiplagat secured first place, followed by Victor Korir in second and Raihan Syed in third. Among the women, Agnes Njohi won first place, with Jane Njira and Kira Avariella taking second and third.

In the 800-metre children’s race, Hamid Al Hammadi won first place, followed by Obaid Al Ketbi in second and Luca Jalloul in third. In the girls’ category, Maryam Badr took first place, followed by Judy Mahmoud in second and Rowayda Syed in third.
