UOS hosts Forensic Evidence Exhibition with Sharjah Police

Sharjah 24: The College of Law at the University of Sharjah (UOS) organised its annual Forensic Evidence Exhibition in collaboration with the Sharjah Police Headquarters. The event aimed to provide students with essential knowledge and hands-on experience in the fields of forensic science and criminology.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Yousef Haik, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, in the presence of Brigadier General Expert Naji Al Hammadi, Director of the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department; Colonel Amer Al Harmoudi, Deputy Director of the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department; Colonel Adel Al-Shehhi, Deputy Director of the Department of Security Support, and Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Nuaimi, Head of the Weapons Licensing Department at the Sharjah Police Headquarters. Also in attendance were Dr. Amina Al-Marzouqi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, along with several college deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

The event began with the military band from the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy performing the national anthem and a selection of musical pieces. This was followed by an exceptional performance by the professional police K9 unit, highlighting methods of detecting and identifying explosives, as well as locating suspects.

Featured booths representing several police departments and units

The exhibition featured booths representing several police departments and units, including the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department, Weapons and Machinery Unit, Fingerprint Detection Lab, Forensic Biology Unit, Forensic Chemistry Unit, Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Cybercrimes Unit. It also included participation from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Security Media Department at Sharjah Police, and the University’s Clinical Legal Office. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the tools and procedures used by police and forensic units to investigate and interpret crime scenes.
