Sharjah24: In a decisive step to broaden its global academic and research horizons, the University of Sharjah (UOS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hunan Agricultural University in China, paving the way for robust international exchange programmes between the two institutions. This landmark agreement aims to foster collaboration across a variety of fields, including the exchange of faculty, researchers, and students, as well as the sharing of academic resources, scientific publications, and expertise. The partnership also envisions the launch of joint educational and cultural initiatives, alongside the organisation of international academic and research events which would elevate both universities as leading institutions in higher education.
The official signing ceremony was marked by the visit of a high-level delegation from Hunan Agricultural University, led by Vice President Wu Bo. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Yousef Haik, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Sharjah, in the presence of senior faculty and administrative representatives from both sides. The programme featured in-depth meetings between the universities’ representatives, including discussions with faculty members and a guided tour of the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology, offering delegates a firsthand glimpse of the University’s cutting-edge research and educational facilities.

The University of Sharjah’s leadership team at the signing included Prof. Ilhan Ozturk, Dean of the College of Business Administration; Prof. Nouar Tabet, Dean of the College of Sciences; Prof. Zahia Salhi, Acting Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Prof. Abdelaziz Soufyane, Director of the International Relations Office; Dr. Asmaa Awad, Director of the Language Institute; Prof. Mohamed Adel Serhani, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations; Prof. Imad Mushtaha, Chair of the Department of Architecture; and Dr. Karim Moussa, Chair of the Department of Applied Biology.

The Hunan Agricultural University delegation comprised Yue Haobing, Director of the International Exchange Office; Shaohua, Director of the Development Planning Office; Liu Changping, Dean of the College of Landscape Architecture; Liu Hui, Dean of the College of Economics; Zhou Yaoyou, Dean of the College of Environment and Ecology; and Zhou Xiaomei, Director of the International Cooperation Programme Office.
