In his remarks, Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, emphasized the University's unwavering commitment to providing an inclusive educational environment that supports students in achieving their aspirations. He noted that the achievements of graduates with disabilities stand as a testament to their patience, determination, resilience, and ability to transform challenges into opportunities. He also commended the pivotal role played by families throughout their sons' and daughters' academic journey, particularly mothers, whom he described as the primary source of support and true partners at every stage of their children's academic success.
Prof. Ahmed Falah Alomosh, Director of the Disability Resource Center, said that the ceremony is held in recognition of a long journey of dedication and the collective efforts of graduates with disabilities, demonstrating that disability is never a barrier to ambition and that a supportive environment can unlock potential and transform it into meaningful achievement. He noted that the Center is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment that empowers students, nurtures their talents, and enables them to reach their full potential. He added that students with disabilities have become active and valued members of the University community, playing an important role in fostering a culture of awareness, acceptance, and mutual respect among their peers.
Speaking on behalf of the mothers of the graduates with disabilities, the mother of graduate Thani Al-Shehhi said that their sons' and daughters' enrollment at the University of Sharjah marked a significant milestone in their academic and personal journeys. She commended the University for providing a supportive educational environment that believes in its students' abilities. She emphasized that the University's support extended beyond academic achievement to strengthening students' self-confidence, developing their personal, social, and leadership skills, and enabling them to become active members of their communities.
