“Safe Study Environment” initiative unites Sharjah Police and UOS

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, organised the “Safe Study Environment” initiative in cooperation with the University of Sharjah (UOS).

The initiative aimed to strengthen community partnership and provide traffic services to students, as well as administrative and teaching staff, in order to ensure a safe educational environment. It was held over a period of four days.

Senior officials in attendance

The initiative was attended by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Professor Dr Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UOS); His Excellency Brigadier General Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of the General Department of Operations and Security Support; along with a number of officers and officials from both sides.

Field visit and services provided

During his field tour around the university, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police reviewed the traffic services provided to students and staff, which included technical vehicle inspections, opening and renewal of driving licence files, registration with training institutes, eyesight testing, as well as special discounts for students to encourage compliance with traffic regulations. The initiative was also held across several universities in the emirate, including the University of Sharjah, University of Al Dhaid, and University of Khorfakkan.

Recognition of strategic partners

The initiative concluded with the recognition of key strategic partners: the University of Sharjah, Sharjah Driving Institute, Belhasa Driving Centre, Al Jaber Optical, ENOC Registration, and Al Nahr Printing and Photocopying Services. They were honoured in appreciation of their outstanding contribution to the success of the initiative and their fruitful cooperation in achieving its objectives.
