The event, which took place, on Sunday, attracted a large gathering from the educational and local community. This celebration recognised the exceptional contributions and achievements that have enriched both the educational and religious scenes in the Emirate.
This recognition is part of the Parents Council ongoing commitment to providing high-quality initiatives throughout the 2024/2025 academic year. The council continues to offer annual programmes and competitions that promote a stronger relationship between families and schools. By identifying and nurturing both educational and religious talent, the council plays a key role in supporting students and reinforcing the values of integrity, faith, and learning within the community. These efforts aim to foster generations who will actively contribute to societal progress.
The ceremony was attended by Mani' Saeed Al Darmaki, Director of the Parents Councils at the Districts Affairs Department, along with a number of heads and representatives from local community institutions. Also present were the competition participants and their parents. The event showcased a deep appreciation for student achievements in the fields of education and Quranic study, highlighting the pivotal role families play in supporting both the educational and moral development of their children.
The 2025 editions of both competitions saw substantial participation. The Educational Research competition included 52 entries from various categories, including students, parents, and staff members (administrative, teaching, and technical) from Sharjah schools. Prizes were awarded to nine winners, three in each category. The research topics covered critical areas such as the role of parents in enhancing students' academic and behavioural outcomes. The research also addressed learning loss and how it can be mitigated through better collaboration between families, schools, and educational institutions.
Meanwhile, the Quran Memorisation and Recitation competition attracted 166 participants across all age groups, from kindergarten to the various stages of schooling, as well as parents and individuals with disabilities, all representing different boys’ and girls’ schools in Sharjah. Thirty-six winners were crowned in the competition, highlighting the importance the Emirate and the Parents Council place on religious values. The initiative aims to instil a love for the Quran, its memorisation, and its contemplation in the hearts of young people.
The ceremony began with a beautiful recitation of Quranic verses, followed by a speech from Mani' Al Darmaki, who expressed his pride in the high calibre of the competition entries. He highlighted the extensive participation from various groups and praised the hard work of the organising and judging committees. Al Darmaki assured the audience that the Parents Council would continue to launch impactful initiatives that support students and families, aiming to integrate educational and moral values more deeply within the community.
Al Darmaki also extended his congratulations to the winners and their families, wishing them continued success and excellence. He encouraged all participants to persist in their pursuit of academic and personal growth, emphasising that these competitions reflect the community’s engagement with societal initiatives. They also validate the success of the Parents’ Council vision of establishing strong educational partnerships between all stakeholders involved.
At the close of the event, the winners were celebrated in an atmosphere filled with pride and joy. Participants and their families expressed their gratitude for the recognition, acknowledging that such initiatives serve to inspire young people, boost their self-confidence, and encourage them to work harder towards achieving excellence across all areas of life—academically, behaviourally, and emotionally.
