This donation reflects the institutional engagement in response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who urged for competition in acts of goodness.
The Foundation sees this donation as the first fruitful seed towards launching the project and achieving its noble humanitarian goals. The endowment is regarded as a pioneering initiative aiming to build an integrated support system for orphans, enhancing their integration into society and opening wider horizons for their growth and self-reliance.
Commenting on this support, Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF), said: "We express our deepest thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority for this generous donation, which marks the first institutional endowment contribution we have received under the 'Prophet’s Neighbours' project. This initiative is not merely a financial contribution but a noble humanitarian message that expresses the Authority’s firm commitment to its societal role and embodies the true meanings of solidarity and institutional giving."
She added: "We are honoured that the Authority is among the first entities to heed the Ruler’s call and contribute to propelling this blessed project towards achieving its goals of empowering our orphaned children and ensuring sustainable support for them."
She continued: "We hope this inspiring initiative will spark a wide humanitarian community movement, encouraging more entities and institutions to support this endowment, which bears a name dear to all our hearts and symbolises the honour of being neighbours to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, through serving and caring for those who have lost their loved ones."
In this context, His Excellency Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, Director-General of Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA), explained that the Authority’s contribution to this initiative for the orphans of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation comes in compliance with the noble directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and within the framework of fulfilling its social responsibilities. The Authority aims to support this segment of society and provide the necessary care to help them build a bright and stable future.
Al Shamsi further extended his highest thanks and gratitude to His Highness for his generous initiative in launching this noble humanitarian endowment, which reflects His Highness’s visionary approach to building a cohesive and supportive society that plants hope in the hearts of orphans and provides them with the support they need to achieve their dreams and ambitions.
He expressed his hope that this initiative would enhance the endowment’s ability to expand its range of services provided to orphans, including education, care, psychological, and social support. He called upon all institutions and individuals to contribute to this blessed endowment project so that it remains a lasting source of goodness and giving and helps change the lives of orphans towards a bright and hopeful future.
