Sharjah24: The Sharjah team achieved a historic milestone on Tuesday by qualifying for the AFC Champions League final for the first time, defeating Saudi Arabia's Al-Taawoun with a 2-0 victory at Sharjah Stadium in the second leg, and a 2-1 aggregate score over both matches, marking their first appearance in a continental final.
Notably, Romanian coach Olario Cosmin, who led the team, previously guided Al-Ahli (now known as Shabab Al-Ahli) to the AFC Champions League final in 2015, where they lost to Guangzhou Evergrande of China 0-1 in the second leg after a goalless draw in the first leg.

The identity of the team facing Sharjah in the final will be determined today, as Singapore's Lion City Sailors meet Australia’s Sydney FC in the East zone semi-final second leg.

This final will be Sharjah's second of the season, as they are also set to compete against Shabab Al-Ahli in the final of the UAE President’s Cup.

Sharjah topped Group C with 13 points from 6 matches and advanced past Al-Hussein of Jordan in the Round of 16 on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate tie, and defeated Shabab Al-Ahli in the quarter-finals on penalties following a 2-2 aggregate score.

Throughout the tournament leading up to yesterday's match, Sharjah scored a total of 18 goals in the group and knockout stages, with contributions from seven players, including Kaio Lucas and Luan Pereira, each netting 5 goals, followed by Osman Kamara with 3 goals, Firas Al-Arabi with 2 goals, and one goal from Paco Alcácer.
