Sharjah24: Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, has officially opened the "Future Foresight Lab for Security Media" at Sharjah Media City (Shams). The Department of Strategy and Institutional Excellence, in partnership with the Security Media Department, is organising this initiative. The initiative, which includes 30 trainees, seeks to create innovative strategies that enhance the resilience of security media and improve its capacity to foresee future challenges in an ever-evolving environment.

Senior officials from Sharjah Police and Shams, along with experts in media and strategic foresight, attended the event.

Bin Amer commended Shams for its backing of the emirate's media mission and its partnership with upcoming police initiatives, emphasising the lab's contribution to fostering an innovative research environment that can anticipate media changes and produce intelligent communication solutions.

Under the guidance of futurist Dr Derek Woodgate, the lab explored essential themes including future studies analysis, the nature and future of security media, scenario development, and future crime and media, as well as techniques for assessing and utilising foresight insights to improve institutional communication strategies.
