Sharjah 24: Iman Hassan Al Ali, the official spokesperson for the Sharjah Awqaf Department, announced the launch of the “Iftar Sa’im... Ongoing Giving” initiative, which aims to distribute 4,000 Iftar meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative will provide 1,000 meals each week, ensuring a consistent supply for those in need. The meal distribution will take place at the department’s headquarters in Al Abar, Sharjah, in collaboration with volunteers from the Sharjah Voluntary Work Centre.

Collaboration with volunteers to expand outreach

Iman Al Ali highlighted in a special statement to Sharjah 24 that the distribution process will be managed through the department’s headquarters, with volunteers playing a crucial role. Each volunteer will be responsible for collecting meals from the headquarters and delivering them to workers in various locations. This approach aims to maximise the number of beneficiaries and reinforce the values of generosity and social solidarity within the community.

Commemorating Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work

She also emphasised that the initiative will include Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work, a key occasion dedicated to instilling human values, encouraging volunteerism, and strengthening social unity. She noted that this effort aligns with the UAE’s 2025 vision, themed “Year of Community,” reflecting Sharjah’s commitment to promoting a culture of giving and sustainable humanitarian efforts.
