Endowments range from residential villas, traditional houses, buildings, commercial stores, and sums of money secured by lawsuits from Sharjah Sharia Court. This is part of ongoing efforts to promote the culture of endowments and support sustainable community development.
His Excellency Talib Al Marri, Director of Awqaf Department, explained that the proceeds of the received endowments will be disbursed according to the donors' conditions and wishes, which include various community segments such as widow care, orphans, healthcare, education and mosques.
Al Marri stated that the department is seeing an increasing demand from philanthropists and charitable individuals for endowments, reflecting the community's awareness of the importance of this legitimate resource in achieving sustainability and building a better future."
Al Marri affirmed the department’s full commitment to preserving and developing these endowments, and disbursing their proceeds to the channels specified by the donors, to achieve the desired impact.
It is worth noting that the Endowments Department received 11 diverse endowments from 2021 to 2023.
The department confirmed that all endowments have been duly documented and that it is working to optimally invest them to maximize their returns. It noted that it welcomes communication with anyone interested in establishing an endowment and provides the necessary consultations and facilitations to ensure the fulfillment of the donors' objectives.
