63 participants
The event saw the participation of 63 ambassadors, including children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17, along with elderly residents of the home. The event aimed to instill the value of parental kindness in the hearts of young people and to introduce them to the concept of endowments and their impact on sustainable good and community service.
Contributions
The event included an introductory presentation on the concept of the charitable endowment "Respect for Parents," with the participation of “Respect for Parents Ambassadors” in collecting contributions for the Respect for Parents Endowment projects until the end of the year. Digital contributions were also made available via a dedicated link provided by the Awqaf Department, allowing the public and those wishing to contribute.
“Alamkom P&D”, a partner of the “Respect for Parents Ambassadors” Programme, also contributed by displaying a story inspired by the Respect for Parents Endowment. The participating elderly expressed their happiness with their children's participation and appreciation.
Ongoing success
It is worth noting that the “Respect for Parents Ambassadors” is the second pillar of the "Awareness Ambassadors" programme, which was launched in early 2024 under the slogan "From the Community and to the Community." Building on the success of the first pillar, "Ambassadors of Safe Digital Life," this pillar builds on the tangible impact it has achieved in empowering children in the community and spreading awareness.
It is an appreciation for the elderly through participation and acts of kindness, such as sitting with them or accompanying them in their daily lives. It also spreads awareness messages that encourage being kind to parents and respecting the elderly. This aims to create a generation that understands the rights of elders, respects them, and draws on their rich experiences. It also raises community awareness about preserving the value of loyalty to the elderly, whether they are parents at home, elderly people in nursing homes, or any other place where they are present.
The “Respect for Parents” Programme aims to strengthen family ties, instil social values, and foster intergenerational relationships. It targets children to educate them about the importance of being kind to parents. The programme focuses on empowering children to present activities and programmes directed at parents.
