Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work is excited to announce that it will host the sixth session of the Sharjah Forum for Voluntary Work. This year's theme is “Volunteer Work Across Borders: International Solidarity,” emphasizing the importance of volunteering and how it helps people connect across the globe.

The forum will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The goal of the forum is to highlight how volunteering can help build relationships between different cultures and to showcase the United Arab Emirates' efforts in supporting volunteer initiatives worldwide. It will also provide a platform for sharing experiences and ideas on how volunteering contributes to sustainable development and strengthens international cooperation.

Participants can look forward to engaging discussions featuring representatives from various leading organizations. The first discussion will focus on the UAE's role in fostering international volunteering, with speakers from the Dubai Cares Foundation, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and the World Charity Organization.

The second discussion will share insights and experiences related to international volunteering, featuring the Emirates Foundation and the Sharjah Charity International.

Embodying the UAE’s vision and pioneering role

Fatima Musa Al Belushi, the Executive Director of the Sharjah Voluntary Work Forum (SAVW) and the head of its organizing committee, emphasized the importance of this event in showcasing the UAE’s commitment to volunteerism on a global scale. She pointed out that the forum is a special chance to talk about how different countries can work together in volunteer efforts and to spotlight successful Emirati volunteer projects that have made a positive impact on communities worldwide.

The goal is also to raise awareness about the value of helping one another and to create connections between individuals and organizations that can lead to sustainable development.

Al Belushi mentioned that the forum allows participants to share ideas and learn from one another about the best ways to engage in volunteering internationally. This exchange of knowledge can help develop new strategies that benefit communities both locally and globally.

She encouraged everyone in the community, including institutions and individuals, to take part in the forum and contribute to the discussions. Registration is easy, as attendees can simply scan the QR code provided in the announcement. Plus, those who participate will receive certificates for their attendance.
