SCC Committee discusses treatment services with SHA Chairman

Sharjah 24: As part of its preparations for the ninth session of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), the Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee of the Council held, on Monday, an expanded meeting at the Council’s headquarters, to prepare for discussing the policy of the Sharjah Health Authority (SHA).

The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Butti Al Muhairi, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and SHA Chairman.

Enhancing health services

The meeting came within the framework of the committee’s work within the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term, to prepare for the Consultative Council session scheduled to be held on Thursday, February 13, which will be dedicated to discussing the Authority’s policy and its role in enhancing health services in the emirate.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, the committee’s rapporteur, in the presence of a number of council members, while Amal Al Qatari, Director of the Authority, participated from SHA, along with a number of her assistants from various departments and sections.

During the meeting, the committee stressed the importance of the ongoing efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in supporting the health sector in the emirate, through continuous follow-up and constant keenness to provide the best health services to citizens and residents.

Developing medical and health services

The meeting discussed a number of vital topics related to medical and health services, developing medical facilities, and providing the latest treatment technologies, in addition to initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of health care in various regions of the emirate.

Coordination is key

The meeting saw the exchange of views and proposals between the committee members and SHA Chairman, with the aim of supporting continuous development efforts, and enhancing the level of coordination between the various parties concerned with the health sector, to ensure the provision of integrated health services that keep pace with the latest international standards.
