Arab Cultural Club honours writer Nabil Suleiman

Sharjah24: The Arab Cultural Club in Sharjah organised a tribute seminar for writer Nabil Suleiman titled "Journey in the World of Words." Suleiman, along with Dr. Omar Abdul Aziz and Nawaf Younis, spoke at the event, which was moderated by Maria Mohiuddin Tarmoush.
Maria Tarmoush's introduction
In her introduction, Maria Tarmoush described Suleiman as a literary figure who has made a significant impact on the Arab cultural scene. She noted that he has offered a comprehensive narrative project throughout his creative journey, seeking to deconstruct cultural and social phenomena through a literary lens.

Nabil Suleiman's background
Tarmoush added that Nabil Suleiman was born in 1945, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, and has worked in teaching. He is the founder of Dar Al-Hewar Publishing and began writing novels in the late 1950s. His first novel, "The Flood Unfolds," was published in 1969, followed by several other works and critical books. He has received multiple cultural awards and was honored at the Tunis International Book Fair.

Dr. Omar Abdul Aziz's remarks
Dr. Omar Abdul Aziz shared his long acquaintance with Suleiman and praised his ability to make aesthetic judgments on narrative works. He positioned Suleiman among the great Arab cultural figures, highlighting his narrative tools governed by descriptive poetry and visual lyricism.

Nawaf Younis's tribute
Nawaf Younis reflected on their forty-year friendship, emphasizing Suleiman's respect and generosity. He noted Suleiman's prolific output as a writer and intellectual, contributing significantly to the Arab library and representing the historical transformations of Syrian society in his work.

Nabil Suleiman's closing speech
Nabil Suleiman concluded the seminar by thanking the Arab Cultural Club and expressing his love for Sharjah. He shared his journey into reading and writing, emphasizing that reading is essential for writing and reflecting on the importance of creativity, cultural awareness, and integrity in his work.
