Widespread participation marks 'My Family' Festival in Al Hamriyah

Sharjah 24: The 2025 edition of My Family Festival, organised by Al Hamriyah Municipality, in the Eastern District Park for Women, saw a great turnout from the residents of the Al Hamriyah community and the families residing in the area.

Strengthening institutional partnerships

The organisation of the festival comes within the framework of the integration of the efforts of Al Hamriyah Municipality and its keenness to strengthen institutional partnerships to receive visitors to this edition of the "My Family Festival", which is held with the aim of strengthening the bonds of cohesion between the people of the city, and includes many community and entertainment events and programmes.

Emphasising societal values

Al Hamriyah Municipality exert efforts in cooperation with many departments and institutions in organising the festival's activities, to bring joy and happiness to its visitors and audience, which emphasises through its various activities many societal values, and in essence constitutes a social, recreational and cultural occasion in which families meet with their children in a number of activities that were carefully selected to enhance social cohesion and family cohesion among the people of Al Hamriyah area.

The festival was held over (3 days) during the weekend, in cooperation with a number of entities in the Sharjah government, represented by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, and Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, in addition to a number of sponsors and partners, and the organisation of a number of recreational competitions and purposeful cultural workshops, and the establishment of a special corner for popular and heritage foods.

Entertainment and educational activities

Al Hamriyah Municipality employees in charge of implementing the programmes and activities of the "My Family" Festival in Al Hamriyah explained that the festival, in its current 2025 edition, includes many entertainment and educational activities, cultural and motivational competitions, and artistic and entertainment workshops provided by the government departments and institutions participating in the festival's activities.

They added that what distinguishes this version of the "My Family" Festival is the allocation of a special heritage session for elderly women in cooperation with the Department of Social Services in Al Hamriyah, in addition to providing a dedicated site for food carts, and special sessions for families decorated with festive lights to enjoy the winter and family atmosphere, in addition to providing an outdoor children's cinema corner, and allocating a corner to sell local products from productive families, with the aim of adding passion and spending the most beautiful times and memories.

For his part, His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, stated that My Family Festival comes in line with the lofty visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in keenness to enhance family cohesion and social fabric, and to strengthen family ties between the components of the local community.

Al Shamsi added that the festival sees the cooperation and participation of strategic partners with Al Hamriyah Municipality, praising the efforts of all partners from the participating entities and institutions in My Family Festival and their interest in participating and keenness to provide their activities and qualitative programmes for all community groups that contribute to consolidating family cohesion and solidarity, and enhance the skills and capabilities of participants with the quality and type of activities provided, and benefit from the diversity of initiatives that suit different ages.
