Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) is set to host a Parliamentary Media Seminar on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM, as part of its second ordinary session of the 11th legislative term. The event is scheduled to take place at the Council’s headquarters in Sharjah, showcasing a notable gathering of experts and academics.

Improving Understanding of Parliamentary Matters

The seminar seeks to enhance the role of parliamentary media in promoting awareness of legislative matters and underscoring its significance as a means to encourage local engagement in the legislative and oversight processes.

Experts Share Insights

A number of specialised professors will participate in the seminar as part of the Memorandums of Understanding and constructive cooperation between the Sharjah Consultative Council and several universities Professor Dr. Hisham Mohammed Abbas, Dean of the College of Communication at Al Qasimia University, is one of them. He will talk about how the media shape the picture of parliament, how to examine media speech, and how to understand specific media messages.

Head of University Communication at the American University of Sharjah, Dr. Suhail Dahdouh, will talk about political writing tools for the media, how to use them, and how to make messages that are in line with parliamentary policies.

Dr. Sharifa Al Marzouqi, who is in charge of the Media Center at the University of Sharjah, will talk about what parliamentary media are, why they're important, and how they can help spread parliamentary culture.
