Salem Al Qasimi honours Mohammed bin Khalid Handball Champion

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, presented the cup to the German handball team, MT Melsungen, after their victory in the eighth edition of the Mohammed bin Khalid Al Qasimi International Handball Championship. The final match, held at Sharjah Sports Club Hall, saw MT Melsungen defeat Tunisia's Al Afriqi with a score of 31-25.

Tournament overview and participants

The championship, held from January 22 to 27, 2025, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, featured 8 teams from three continents: Sharjah, Mleiha, and Dibba Al Hisn from the UAE; MT Melsungen from Germany; Zamalek from Egypt; Etoile du Sahel and Club Africain from Tunisia; and Kazma from Kuwait.

Individual awards and recognition

Florian Drosten of MT Melsungen was named the Best Player, while Abdullah Awad Al Saad of Sharjah was awarded Best Goalkeeper. The Top Scorer award went to Hubert Mendo Nanawa of Dibba Al Hisn.
